Veterans of the special military operation from all regions of the country will gather from September 23 to 27 at the All-Russian meeting of the Association of Special Military Operation Veterans in Vladivostok, on the campus of the Far Eastern Federal University.
“Russia is going through a turning point in its history. Forces from the entire Western world have been thrown against us, aiming to weaken our economy, divide and destroy the country. But they miscalculated. They did not take into account the most important thing – the character of our people and the courage of the fighters. Brave and loyal people to the country have returned from the front. Russia needs their experience, discipline, honesty, and sense of justice more than ever. For the guys who returned from the front, extensive support programs have been deployed – from medical rehabilitation to free retraining and employment assistance. I am confident that the collections will help make this work even more effective, finding the best use for the invaluable knowledge and experience of the courageous defenders of the Fatherland,” said Deputy Prime Minister – Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District, Yuri Trutnev.
The business program of the gathering includes an introduction to the best practices of the Far East in supporting participants of the special military operation. These will be discussed together with representatives of the Plenipotentiary Representative of the President in the Far Eastern Federal District, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East and Arctic, the Far Eastern Federal University, and the heads of executive authorities of all 11 regions of the district. A field meeting of the Public Chamber commission on support for participants of the special military operation and their families, dedicated to discussing current issues of state support and social adaptation of veterans, will also be held at the gathering venue.
“We are counting on a highly meaningful dialogue that will allow scaling the Far Eastern practices to other Russian regions. In turn, the regional leaders of the association will have the opportunity to share their developments and experience,” said Vladimir Gorokh, executive director of the Association of SVO Veterans.
“Our fighters have proven their dedication to the country not with words, but with actions. We must do everything to ensure that their return to peaceful life allows them to fully realize the knowledge, character, and experience acquired under the most difficult conditions. These people know how to take responsibility, make decisions, and lead — these are exactly the qualities needed today by the state, the economy, and education. A separate task is to support the families of our defenders. Here, concrete solutions are important: education, employment, medical and psychological assistance, opportunities for children. At FEFU, we work in all these areas. Today, we have 617 veterans and family members of participants of the special military operation studying with us; more than a thousand fighters have already undergone rehabilitation in our medical complex, and our center for patriotic education is headed by combat veteran Leon Volodin, twice awarded the
The training sessions will include project sessions dedicated to commemorating the memory of the defenders of the Fatherland and shaping the image of the SVO veteran in the media space, as well as a business game organized by the Agency for Strategic Initiatives. An exhibition will be held, telling about the emergence of Ukrainian Nazism, as well as a display featuring products manufactured by Far Eastern enterprises (including residents of the advanced development territory “Patriotic”) for the needs of the front and the rehabilitation of SVO veterans.
“By the directive of Yuri Petrovich Trutnev, the Ministry for the Development of the Russian Far East is implementing a package of support measures for the TOR ‘Patriotic.’ Within the program, manufacturers of the Far East produce dual-use products that are in demand at the front, such as UAVs, FPV drones, snow swamp vehicles, buggies, and personal body armor. Currently, about 75,000 items have already been produced and delivered to the zone of the Special Military Operation,” reported State Secretary – Deputy Minister for the Development of the Far East and the Arctic Anton Basansky.
Participants of the training will conduct a unified lesson of courage in educational institutions in Vladivostok. Veterans, including recipients of the Order of Courage and holders of other state awards, will tell schoolchildren, college students, and members of the patriot clubs of the Far Eastern Federal University about their combat past and answer questions from the audience. The meetings will be held simultaneously at 17 venues and will reach more than 3,000 students.
The work is presented by the Center for the Development of Military-Sports Training and Patriotic Education of Youth “Warrior”, established by order of the President of Russia.
Exhibitions of works by the winners of the contemporary poster art competition “Time of Meanings” named after Hero of Russia Sergey Efremov and works from the patriotic art project “Portrait of a Hero”, dedicated to the memory of fallen participants of the special military operation, will be held. As part of the “Time of Meanings” project, more than 30 works are presented, many of which are devoted to important pages of Russian history and the present day. For example, Milana Babayan’s poster “My United Family” depicts a touching moment of a family reunion – the wife tightly embraces her husband returning home, and Kamilla Khakimullina’s work “Heroes in Our Hearts” reflects the deep connection between generations, based on the memory of heroes who fought for freedom.
The training camp will conclude with competitions in football, volleyball, table tennis, and dragon boat racing. They will be dedicated to the memory of a comrade-in-arms, twice Hero of the Russian Federation Mikhail Gudkov.
