The team was awarded for the work “Improving the efficiency of the procurement process of defense enterprises under the conditions of the special military operation considering import substitution tasks,” which will help defense enterprises solve import substitution tasks more quickly and effectively.
“It is a great honor for me to receive an award bearing the name of the great Russian engineer, — shared the rector of Polytechnic, Andrey Rudskoy. — We conducted the study together with colleagues; Academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and honorary graduate of Polytech, Mikhail Vladimirovich Silnikov, played a special role in our group. The objective of our research is to optimize the production of equipment for the country’s defense. The results are already being applied in practice: delivery times have been reduced by eight percent, and the accuracy of component selection has reached 99 percent.
Congratulating the laureates, the Governor of the Tula Region Dmitry Milyaev emphasized that in the conditions of the special military operation, Tula weapons daily prove their reliability and effectiveness, and the defense industry enterprises are actively involved in solving the tasks of import substitution and strengthening the personnel potential.
On this day, Andrey Rudskoy and Albert Gilmutdinov visited Tula State University. At the Interuniversity Scientific and Technological Center “Composite” of Tula State University, the guests familiarized themselves with the educational and material base for training specialists for the defense industry complex.
Andrey Rudskoy and Albert Gilmutdinov also visited the Military Training Center named after the Tula Workers’ Regiment at TulSU — where the mobilization reserve for the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation is trained under officer and sergeant reserve military training programs.
History of the award
Staff captain and engineer of the Tula Arms Plant Sergey Ivanovich Mosin became famous for his invention — the magazine-fed five-shot rifle, the famous “three-line” model of 1891. The caliber “three lines” (7.62 mm) became the most widely used in Russian small arms of the 20th century.
On the day of S. I. Mosin’s death, January 26, 1902, an award named after him was established. It was presented to weapons developers and individuals who contributed to strengthening Russia’s defense capability. The awarding of laureates took place in Saint Petersburg and ceased after the February Revolution of 1917.
In 1960, the prize was revived in the USSR to encourage domestic designers, engineering and technical workers, authors’ and labor collectives for significant achievements in the development and production of weapons and military equipment, as well as the creation and implementation of new technologies. Before 1992, more than 2,000 laureates received the award, including such world-renowned designers as Igor Stechkin, Mikhail Kalashnikov, Arkady Shipunov, Vasily Gryazev, Alexander Ganichev, Nikolai Makarovets, Gennady Denezhkin.
In the early 1990s, the awarding of the Mosin Prize was halted again, but it resumed in 1999. Now it is awarded annually by the Association of Scientific and Technical Public Organizations of the Tula Region named after S. I. Mosin for scientific and technical research and developments in the interests of the defense and security of the country, the results of which have been used in the creation of new and modernization of existing military and special equipment.
Enterprises of the defense-industrial complex from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Izhevsk, Nizhny Tagil, Kazan, Podolsk, and other cities are participating in the competition for the award.
The winners are presented with an honorary badge and a diploma of the laureate of the S. I. Mosin Prize.
