Moscow teams took first and third places in the final competition of “Zarnitsa 2.0” — the all-Russian military-patriotic game of the “Movement of the First”. Moscow residents also won two places in special nominations. The capital was represented by two squads “Shield and Sword 77” of the Police College, which included 20 participants: from 14 to 17 years old (older age group) and from 18 to 23 years old (special age group). The final stage of the games was held at the defense-sports camp “Avangard” in the Volgograd region. This was reported by the press service Department of Education and Science of Moscow.
“In the final of the all-Russian military-patriotic game, about 1,500 people from 144 teams competed — these are guys from all over Russia, as well as from Abkhazia, South Ossetia, and Belarus. The “Shield and Sword 77” squad of the special age category won the large military-tactical game as part of the Volga army, which included participants from other regions of Russia. The capital team also took first place in the tactical game and second in shooting training.
We worked hard preparing for the competition: analyzing mistakes from last year, training a lot, and honing our skills. Achieving a good result was helped by the unity of the team, fighting spirit, professionalism of each of us, and, of course, the mentor. As the commander, I always strive to maintain the right positive attitude and a friendly atmosphere. “Zarnitsa 2.0” helped me decide on my future profession: I want to become a military officer. Participants of the ‘Shield and Sword 77’ in the senior age category received a diploma for third place as part of the ‘Ob’ army.
During the competition, young people demonstrated the level of drill, shooting, and tactical training. They showed skills in constructing temporary shelters, assembling and disassembling an assault rifle, shooting from an air rifle, and providing first aid. Additionally, they practiced actions for protection during chemical, biological, and radiation emergencies. Participants also completed individual tests, trying themselves as squad commanders, UAV (unmanned aerial vehicle) operators, assault troops, combat engineer sappers, signalmen, medics, and military correspondents.
This year, participants were helped to prepare for the game by members of the special military operation (SMO), including Knights of the Order of Courage. They supported the contestants, gave advice on tactics for passing the challenges and actions in difficult situations.
Last year, at the all-Russian final stage of the competition, Muscovites took prize-winning places in individual trials. The “Shield and Sword 77” squad took first place in the “UAV Operator” category, second place in the “Sapper” category, and third in the test for squad commanders. In addition, as part of the “Oka” army, the team won the final battle of the game.
“Zarnitsa 2.0” has been held since 2024. During this time, the game has united more than three million schoolchildren and students from across the country, including over 40 thousand residents of Moscow. This game is a project of the “Movement of the First,” organized jointly with the “Yunarmiya” movement and the Center for Military-Sports Training and Patriotic Education of Youth “Voin.”
Police College
The Police College trains mid-level professional personnel for the internal affairs bodies and other law enforcement agencies. This year, more than 1,500 places are available for applicants — the number has been increased compared to the previous intake. Currently, more than three thousand cadets study at the college.
Modern training laboratories and training grounds have been equipped for practical training. In particular, the “Virtual Forensic Expert” complex allows cadets to collect evidence at a crime scene in virtual reality and find traces using forensic expert lighting. At the Hero of Russia E.V. Fadin Unmanned Aviation Center, young people learn how to operate UAVs and study methods of countering them using protective means adopted by the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.
One of the key directions of the college’s work is military-patriotic education. Cadets participate in Moscow’s cadet movement parades, the “Immortal Regiment” campaign, military-tactical games “Heirs of Victory” and “Zarnitsa 2.0.” Young people regularly join patronage actions as well. Over three years, the college has sent more than five tons of humanitarian aid to the special military operation zone and the Kursk region. The headquarters of the regional branch of the all-Russian movement “Yunarmiya” of the hero city of Moscow is also located here. More than 2,500 people are members of the college’s squad.
