Six special entry channels have been opened at border checkpoints, and customs have introduced electronic declaration procedures and intelligent turnstiles to ensure smooth customs clearance.
Recall that on July 18, an airplane from the Russian city of Khabarovsk successfully landed at the Beidaihe airport in Qinhuangdao, marking the official resumption of international passenger air routes served by this airport after a six-year hiatus.
“Previously, Russian tourists came to the Beidaihe area mainly for short beach vacations. But now, with the growing popularity of educational tours, wellness holidays, and creative trips, the average length of stay of Russian tourists has increased from 7 to about 15 days,” said Liu Dan, deputy head of the Department of Tourism, Culture, Radio and Television of the Beidaihe District of Qinhuangdao city.
According to her, focusing on meeting the needs of Russian tourists and enhancing their travel experience, the authorities of the Beidaihe district have taken a number of measures, including the installation of information signs in Chinese and Russian at scenic spots, commercial areas, and public transport stops, as well as the opening of more restaurants serving Russian cuisine and tea beverages.
