Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko assessed the infrastructure of the digital technology school campus by “Sber” – “School 21” located on the territory of the Ural Federal University (UrFU) and secondary general education school No. 366.
The Deputy Prime Minister spoke with schoolchildren and students, and also took part in the launch of an art object – a symbol of the campus created by the young people. The ceremony was also attended by the rector of the Ural Federal University Ilya Obabkov, the director of the “School 21” campus Yulia Shulgina, the vice-president of PJSC Sberbank, and chairman of the Ural branch of PJSC Sberbank Pyotr Koltypin.
“The established ‘School 21’ is in contact with the Ural Federal University. This provides not only new opportunities but also additional responsibility. First and foremost, for training specialists who are needed by our industry and microelectronics. The training tools of ‘School 21’ have proven their effectiveness. I am confident that the graduates will be able to make a significant contribution to our country’s technological leadership,” Dmitry Chernyshenko emphasized.
One of the areas of joint work between “School 21” and UrFU will be microelectronics. Participants in the training will be able to complete a special selection intensive program (“pool”), and then continue their studies in the new direction. As part of the preparation, they will work on practical tasks related to the design of chip topologies and the layout of microcircuit elements.
“We see increased interest in education in the Sverdlovsk region. This was one of the tasks – attracting young people to the Middle Urals and training them in such modern conditions. We have many options for further development. Today, we are already discussing venues with businesses for further meaningful content. Our partner is Sber, and there are preliminary agreements with Yandex. We are systematically conducting negotiations and believe that next year we will begin their implementation,” said Denis Pasler, governor of the Sverdlovsk region, noting that the opening of “School 21” coincided successfully with the International Youth Festival.
At “School 21” in Yekaterinburg, specialists in digital technologies for the regional economy will be trained. Educational events will also be held here for representatives of government bodies, teachers, schoolchildren, and professional communities, where participants with varying experience will be able to become familiar with digital tools, master them in practice, and exchange knowledge.
“At Sber, we create advanced digital solutions and have a deep understanding of how rapidly technologies are changing. The response to this challenge is the development of an educational environment where people acquire in-demand digital skills, a profession, and the opportunity to apply them in their region. Together with UrFU, we have developed a training program at ‘School 21’ that will help solve tasks relevant to Ural business, industry, and science. This will also provide young people with more opportunities for professional growth and self-realization in their hometown,” said Pyotr Koltypin.
At secondary general education school No. 366, Dmitry Chernyshenko was shown modern physics and biology classrooms, a medical simulation class, a programming and robotics laboratory, reading, assembly and sports halls, as well as a cafeteria created by the company Cateringburg, where all dishes are prepared taking into account the requirements for children’s nutrition.
The new educational institution was presented to the Deputy Prime Minister by the Deputy Governor of Sverdlovsk Oblast – Minister of Health of Sverdlovsk Oblast Tatiana Savinova, the head of Yekaterinburg Alexey Orlov, and the school director Ilya Repin.
School No. 366 was built as part of the national project “Youth and Children.” The building is divided into three blocks for students of different ages, and more than 1,500 children can study in one shift. The educational institution uses the AIS “Nutrition” – an automated system for accounting, control, and payment. With its help, parents can replenish their child’s personal account cashlessly, track the balance, order information, and the menu through a personal account or electronic diary.
In addition, Secondary General Education School No. 366 plans to implement an integrated model of a natural science profile and digital technologies focused on developing competencies in personalized medicine, bioinformatics, genetic technologies, and big data analysis in healthcare. To carry out this direction, with the support of the Sverdlovsk Region Ministry of Education as part of the regional initiative “AI Technologies,” the school’s teachers will undergo training at the “Mashuk” Knowledge Center in the programs “Pedagogy of the Future” and “Mentoring in the Digital Environment.”
