At a meeting with Governor Vladimir Mazur, Dmitry Patrushev discussed the development of the agro-industrial complex, rural areas, and issues of the region’s environmental well-being. “The Tomsk region is an important industrial and educational center of the Siberian Federal District. One of the region’s key economic sectors is the agro-industrial complex. The Russian government is allocating over 300 million rubles in 2026 to support it and develop rural areas.”

Together with the head of the region, Dmitry Patrushev got acquainted with the work of the Tomsk Agricultural College — the oldest institution of secondary specialized agro-technical education in Siberia. Here, students study agronomy, veterinary science, zootechnics, operation and repair of agricultural machinery and equipment, and other fields.
As part of the national project “Environmental Welfare,” activities are being implemented in the Tomsk region to improve water bodies and preserve forests. The region also plans to commission a number of facilities in the field of solid municipal waste management.
Dmitry Patrushev and Vladimir Mazur inspected the modern waste processing complex “Siberia.” The facility began operation in 2025 and processes the majority of solid municipal waste generated in the region. Here, waste sorting and composting take place. Currently, the facility handles about 210 thousand tons of waste annually. Approximately 80 thousand tons undergo composting.
The Deputy Prime Minister also visited one of the largest enterprises in the woodworking industry in Siberia – “Tomlesdrev.” Here, from their own raw materials, they produce over 36 million square meters of particleboard and about 34 million square meters of laminated particleboard annually. The enterprise regularly modernizes its production processes and implements modern technologies.
