Congratulations on the Federal State Sanitary and Epidemiological Surveillance Day.
Today you continue a tradition of more than a century – to be where the risks are greatest and to act proactively to prevent any threats.
Russia is among the world leaders in readiness for biological and epidemiological threats. The federal project “Sanitary Shield of the Country” has brought the response system to a fundamentally new, highest level.
Fifty-five sequencing centers have been deployed, and the delivery time for samples to them has been reduced to 12 hours. This allows threats to be identified long before they turn into a real danger.
Rospotrebnadzor specialists take the most active part in eliminating outbreaks of dangerous infections abroad, while the “Perimeter” system reliably protects the territory of our country from their import.
Thanks to mass vaccination, Russia confidently maintains its status as a country free from poliomyelitis and endemic rubella. Continuous epidemiological surveillance reliably controls dangerous infections such as measles, pertussis, and many others.
Millions of analyzed samples of food, water, and air are not just statistics, but a guarantee of the safety of what we eat and drink, what we breathe, and use in everyday life.
The large-scale educational projects “Sanprosvet” and “Healthy Nutrition” help to foster a culture of prevention and responsible attitude towards one’s own health in society.
