As part of the “I Will Become a Mother” project, 450,000 women in Moscow underwent testing for anti-Müllerian hormone (AMH) over two years and gained the opportunity to assess their reproductive potential. Compared to the results of the first year, the total number of participants doubled. This was announced by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Social Development. Anastasia Rakova.
“In recent years, we have been systematically developing obstetric and gynecological care in Moscow. We have introduced a new standard for it, expanded the network of women’s health centers, obstetric hospitals, and modern perinatal centers. Two years ago, we launched the ‘I Will Become a Mother’ project so that Muscovite women could consciously approach motherhood, learn in advance about their reproductive health, and receive timely assistance if necessary. Already, 450 thousand women have participated in the project. 85 thousand of them have undergone examination at women’s health centers and received specialist recommendations. Currently, more than 10 thousand participants are expecting a child. For those who medically need to preserve the possibility of motherhood in the future, free cryopreservation of oocytes and embryos is available. Over the past year, more than 200 patients have used this service, and in total around 400,” Anastasia Rakova said.
Thanks to the project for Muscovite women aged 25 to 39, referrals for the AMH test — an indicator that allows assessing the ovarian reserve and the body’s ability to conceive — are now available in the Unified Medical Information and Analytical System (EMIAS). If there are medical indications, the test is also accessible to patients aged 18 to 24. You can sign up and have your blood drawn for free without prior consultation with a doctor. Additionally, if desired, the referral for the test can be issued during an appointment by an obstetrician-gynecologist.
The subsequent course depends on the results. If necessary, the patient continues examination at the women’s health center, where she receives consultation and recommendations on management tactics. Thus, the AMH test becomes the first stage of monitoring for those who require a detailed assessment of reproductive health.
Women’s health centers are a key element of the new standard for outpatient obstetric and gynecological care in Moscow. Here, you can undergo the necessary examinations, receive specialized assistance, prepare for pregnancy, and then be monitored at all its stages. These centers are part of the largest multidisciplinary hospitals, ensuring continuity between outpatient and inpatient care.
