Specialists urban infrastructure complex of Moscow successfully completed the integration of a new high-pressure gas pipeline into the existing system in the Akademichesky district in the southwest of the capital. This is a labor-intensive technological process that requires high precision and professional skill.

The complexity of the work was partly due to the difference in pipeline diameters. The diameter of the existing gas pipeline is 1200 millimeters, while the new one is 1000 millimeters.

“This is one of the complex infrastructure projects, the implementation of which demonstrates the high level of Mosgaz’s technological capabilities. The length of the new engineering networks exceeds three kilometers, almost 90 percent of which were constructed using microtunneling. The gas pipeline runs at a depth of about 10 meters, which allowed bypassing other engineering communications. The work in the densely populated area was carried out without significant impact on the urban environment,” noted Mikhail Vdovin, General Director of PJSC Mosgaz.

The designers took into account the characteristics of the object and chose the optimal technological solution. The insertion was performed using a tee blank after reducing the pressure in the system. All work was carried out in compliance with safety requirements. The specialists conducted a multi-level check of the tightness and reliability of each connection.

At the same time as the construction of the gas pipeline, the territory was improved after the excavation pits were eliminated. Currently, three areas remain to be put in order. Trenchless technologies were used during the work, so there are no large excavations on the territory. The asphalt pavement and green zones are being restored selectively.

The capital continues to develop its gas system, commissioning new facilities every year. Modern technologies and equipment are used during construction, which ensures the reliability and safety of the communal infrastructure.

In Moscow’s urban management sector, it was noted that the projects being implemented in the city for the modernization and enhancement of the reliability of communal infrastructure align with the goals and objectives of the national project. “Infrastructure for Life”. A large-scale project has appeared on the portal mos.ru special project, dedicated to the development of key areas of Moscow. Among them are transport, industry, healthcare, education, sports, and construction. The special project helps to learn how the capital has changed in recent years, which initiatives aimed at making life even more comfortable for city residents are currently being implemented, and what awaits Moscow and its inhabitants in the near future.

On the project page “Communal Infrastructure” You can learn about how engineering communications are being developed and updated in the capital, how the waste separation system works, and the unified management system of urban utilities.
