Washington, April 14 /Xin Hua/ — On Tuesday, direct Israeli-Lebanese negotiations at the ambassadorial level began at the U.S. State Department in Washington.
U.S. Secretary of State Mark Rubio expressed hope for the achievement of a framework agreement that could lead to a “very positive” and long-term result.
“All the complexities of this issue will not be resolved in the next six hours, but we can start moving forward and create a foundation for something very positive and very sustainable to happen,” M. Rubio said in a brief opening statement.
“This is a process, not a one-time event. It is something bigger than just one day,” he emphasized.
