Lanzhou, September 14 /Xinhua/ — Recently, a training course titled “Enhancing Leadership in Education in Central Asia through AI” opened at Northwest Normal University. Twenty-seven attendees from educational authorities and universities of Kyrgyzstan and Uzbekistan gathered in the city of Lanzhou (administrative center of Gansu Province, Northwest China) to undergo specialized training and exchange experiences on issues related to education reform using artificial intelligence, building a digital education system, improving education management levels, and other topics.
According to available information, the training course will last nine days. During the training, experts from Beijing Normal University, East China Normal University, Northwest Normal University, and other higher education institutions will be invited. The course content focuses on topics such as artificial intelligence and global transformations in education, China’s education digitalization strategy, the use of AI in higher and basic education, big data analysis in education, creation of smart campuses, and others.
The Deputy Head of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education of the PRC, Jia Peng, stated in a video message that educational and humanitarian exchanges are a fundamental and leading project of cooperation between China and Central Asia. This training course represents a concrete practice of implementing the agreements reached by the parties and building a China-Central Asia community with a shared future, as well as an innovative measure aimed at mastering a new direction in digital education and deepening practical cooperation.
Deputy Head of the Gansu Provincial Department of Education Zeng Huahui noted that Gansu has consistently announced a series of action plans for the use of artificial intelligence in higher education, basic education, and teacher development, is implementing the “AI + Education” initiative, and has already made certain progress.
