Beijing, September 14 /Xinhua/ — The spread of narratives about threats, confrontation, and unfair competition can only hinder the process of global artificial intelligence (AI) governance, which does not serve anyone’s interests. This was stated on Monday by the official spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, Guo Jia-kun, while commenting on the recent call from industry-leading company executives to slow down the development of AI technologies.

According to media reports, Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei called on Saturday for companies involved in artificial intelligence to slow down the pace at which AI model capabilities are improved, due to concerns about losing control over the technology.
