During a working trip to Salekhard in the Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous Okrug, Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko, together with the head of the region Dmitry Artyukhov, assessed the educational infrastructure and youth policy facilities of the subject.

At the Polaris art residence, the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region awarded the winners of the second All-Russian military-tactical competition “Path of the Warrior.”

“I am glad to welcome the finalists and winners – the youth from the Volgograd region. I want to convey congratulations to you also from my colleague – Yuri Petrovich Trutnev. The all-Russian competitions are being held in Yamal for the second time, where the best of the best are determined by overcoming the warrior’s path. I want us all to welcome your mentors and coaches – true warriors. I wish you health, to continue loving our Motherland, to be true patriots and role models. Your success is, of course, both recognition and a huge responsibility because you must keep the bar very high. There must be constant forward movement – this is what our country needs now more than ever. I know we can count on you,” said Dmitry Chernyshenko.

He also noted that he understands the importance of competent mentoring, as he himself is a mentor for two participants of the “Time of Heroes” program – Stepan Belov and Andrey Brovkin.

“A patriot becomes stronger when they know their entire country – from the south and Central Russia to the Arctic and the Far East. Love for the Motherland gains true strength when a person has friends and memories of these places. Everyone’s fate will unfold in their own way, but it is important to remember: as long as you are united and feel the support of a friend – you are invincible. I thank the founders of ‘Warrior,’ Yuri Petrovich Trutnev and Sergey Vladilenovich Kirienko, for this important systemic initiative. Yamal is ready to continue hosting the most patriotic competitions in our country,” said Yamal Governor Dmitry Artyukhov.

The Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region assessed the infrastructure of the art residence “Polaris,” which tops the federal network ranking of art residences “Tavrida.Art.” It offers modern amenities for youth leisure and talent development: a media studio for creating video and audio content, a theater, and an open creative space. In 2023, the second floor of the art residence – “Yamolod.Hub” – was modernized thanks to the region’s victory in the presidential program “Region for the Young.”

Dmitry Chernyshenko and Dmitry Artyukhov toured some of the laboratories and workshops of the Yamal Multiprofile College in Salekhard, where more than 3,000 students study, and also spoke with the students themselves.

The Deputy Prime Minister recommended that the college administration and regional employers organize workforce training in tourism in accordance with the needs of the “Ray-Iz” ski resort. Within the framework of the federal project “Professionalitet,” a cluster for the “Tourism and Services” sector has been created based at the educational institution. Eleven educational programs are being implemented, which are attended by more than 7,000 people.

In addition, the Deputy Prime Minister and the head of the region were shown the working zones “Yamal Tourism and Hospitality”, the “I am Young” space, and others. Mikhail Ivanov, the winner of the all-Russian competition “Master of the Year – 2025” organized by the Ministry of Education of Russia, spoke about the specialty “Tourism and Hospitality”.

Another place visited was the “Extreme Park” – the first year-round facility in Salekhard for extreme sports. The opening of the sports complex was timed to coincide with the 430th anniversary of the regional capital. Inside the park, more than 30 figures and ramps were installed for riders of all skill levels: ramps, run-ups, fun boxes, a parkour zone, and two trampolines measuring 5×5 meters. In the summer, the “Extreme Park” became one of the venues for the “Summer in Yamal” project: free training sessions were organized there for schoolchildren staying in the city for the summer.

Dmitry Chernyshenko also visited the Cathedral of the Transfiguration of the Lord, which was consecrated two years ago. The building is one of the tallest structures in Yamal.
