The excavation of the left running tunnel between the stations “Dream Island” and “Maple Boulevard” has been completed Biryulyovo metro line. Sergey Sobyanin reported this on his channel on in the messenger “Max”.

“The shield of the ‘Esmin’ has passed more than 1.6 kilometers, part of the route ran under the bed of the Moscow River. The work was carried out under complex hydrogeological conditions: in addition to hard and semi-hard clays, there are sandy and mixed water-saturated soils here,” noted the Mayor of Moscow.

Earlier, the shield “Elena” completed the right tunnel in the same section — thereby concluding the construction of the two running tunnels.

A total of 10 stations are planned for the Biryulyovskaya metro line. Currently, eight of them are under construction: “ZIL”, “Dream Island”, “Maple Boulevard”, “Kuryanovo”, “Lugansk,” “Caspian,” “Lipetsk,” and “Lebedyanskaya”.

The Biryulyovskaya metro line, over 22 kilometers long, will stretch from the former industrial zone “ZIL” to the Biryulyovo Vostochnoye and Biryulyovo Zapadnoye districts. For their residents, travel time to the city center will be reduced by 30 minutes. Convenient and fast transfers to the Large Circle Line, Troitskaya, and Zamoskvoretskaya lines will be available to city dwellers, Moscow Central Circle, as well as on various railway lines.

“The line will make trips more comfortable for more than a million residents of eight city districts. Passengers will be transported by modern trains of Russian production,” added the Mayor of Moscow.
