Muscovites will choose the winner for the first time Technology Award The governments of Moscow and Sber in the nomination “Best Innovation for the City.” In the project “Active Citizen” has started voting for the laureate.

The technology award is held in the capital for the second year in a row as part of the Moscow Startup Summit. It is designed to recognize the achievements of representatives of the Russian innovation market. This year, the competition program features 17 categories. Startups, investors, corporate representatives, regional development institutions and universities, as well as thematic media projects that cover tech entrepreneurship and the implementation of innovations in Russia, are competing for the awards.

The best innovation for the city

Experts have selected 10 finalists in the category “Best Innovation for the City.” Among them are projects in the fields of ecology, education, urban management, and digital technologies. Voting participants can familiarize themselves with the description of each finalist in the section “More details”.

Two projects are related to ecology and conscious consumption. The first is a platform with a reward system for recycling materials, which are then used to produce furniture, decor, and landscaping elements. The second is a digital service that allows purchasing high-quality products at a significant discount, which bakeries, cafes, and shops have not sold during the day.

Three more projects are dedicated to education. These include a platform for children to learn programming and robotics, an engineering game where participants assemble a ground station and receive images of the Earth from satellites, as well as a digital service for students featuring class schedules, job and internship search, and university reviews.

The other five finalists offer solutions for various urban issues. Among them are the production of prefabricated facade baskets for outdoor air conditioning units and an online service for searching and ordering special machinery. Another project is a digital guidebook with routes and cards of city places. There is also a service for creating digital passports of houses and apartments with data on building engineering systems and completed works. Completing the list are cleaning robots and special platforms for managing them.

The voting results will be summarized on September 27. The winners of the technology award will be honored on September 30 at the Moscow Startup Summit. It will take place in “SberCity”, in the space of the largest campus of “School 21”.

The voting was prepared by the “Active Citizen” project in collaboration with By the Department of Entrepreneurship and Innovative Development of the City of Moscow. It is available to users with a full or standard account on the mos.ru portal. Participation will earn points in the city loyalty program “Million prizes”. They can be used to obtain goods and services from partner organizations of the program or directed to charity. Options for using points are presented on the website ag-vmeste.ru.

Project “Active Citizen” has been operating since 2014. During this time, more than seven million people have joined it, with over 7,900 votes held in total. Every month, between 30 and 40 decisions made by Muscovites are implemented in the city. The project is developed by the State Public Institution “New Management Technologies” and the city Department of Information Technology.
