Financial News: The powers of financial ombudsman Denis Novak have been extended (10.09.2026)

The Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia1 has decided to extend Denis Vasilyevich Novak’s authority as the financial ombudsman for consumer rights in the fields of insurance, microfinance, credit cooperation, and the activities of credit institutions until October 25, 2026.

According to Federal Law No. 123-FZ dated 04.06.2018 “On the Authorized Representative for the Rights of Financial Services Consumers,” the financial ombudsman is appointed by the Board of Directors of the Bank of Russia upon the proposal of the chief financial ombudsman for a term of 5 years. Denis Novak was for the first time appointed by the Commissioner for Consumer Rights in Financial Services on October 11, 2021.
