Beijing, September 10 /Xinhua/ — The Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) Business Summit 2026 will be held in Shenzhen City (Guangdong Province, South China) from November 17 to 18. This was announced on Thursday by the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade (CCPIT).

The summit on “Jointly Promoting Prosperity for a Shared Future”, organized by the CCSRM, will bring together about 1,000 representatives from the political and business circles of APEC economies.

Participants will discuss topics such as the creation of a free trade zone in the Asia-Pacific Region (APR), connectivity, artificial intelligence, and sustainable development, and will present their recommendations and proposals to promote economic growth in the APR.

As the host of the APEC 2026 events, China will hold the 33rd informal meeting of APEC economic leaders in Shenzhen from November 18 to 19. The APEC Business Summit will take place on the sidelines of this meeting.

China is hosting APEC events for the third time and for the first time in the past 12 years.

The main theme of China’s chairmanship of APEC this year is “Building an Asia-Pacific Community of Shared Prosperity.”

As previously reported by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the PRC, in 2026, as part of the “Year of China” in APEC, about 300 events are planned to be held in various cities across the country. –0–
