On April 9–10, at the base of the Moscow State University of Civil Engineering (NIU MGSU), the final of the All-Russian competition for fire protection systems designers took place in the category «Student League». The team of the Faculty of Engineering Ecology and Urban Management of SPbGASU demonstrated a high level of training, taking an honorableSecond place in the overall team standings.
More than 50 students from 16 universities competed in the in-person stage. The organizer was the Consortium of fire alarm, fire, and ACS safety system manufacturers with the support of the State Corporation “RUBEG”.
The task required participants not only to have deep knowledge of the regulatory framework, but also practical skills: developing a system project using domestic equipment in the Russian automation system NanoCAD. Experts evaluated the ability to competently select components and take into account modern requirements for building automation.
The preparation of the team from the Saint Petersburg State Architectural and Civil Engineering University was supervised by an associate professor of the Department of Structural Physics, Electric Power Engineering, and Electrical EngineeringDmitry Gorlatov.Commenting on the success of the wards, he noted: “Being among those who reached the final and won silver at such a level is the result of colossal extracurricular work by the guys. Designing fire protection systems in the NanoCAD environment requires not only engineering intuition but also impeccable mastery of complex software. Our students have proven that they can quickly adapt to market demands and work with advanced domestic technologies on par with professionals.”
The honor of our university was defended by a team consisting of students from the Faculty of Engineering Ecology and Urban Management (majoring in “Electrical Power Engineering and Electrical Engineering”).Antona Klyuyeva, Andrey Kostikova(both – fourth year) andDmitry Plutka(first year of master’s program).
Dmitry Plutoknoted the assistance in preparation for the competition from industry experts: “I want to express my gratitude to the company “RUBEZH”: in two months of training they helped us to progress from minimal knowledge to a confident professional base. The organization at MGSU was also impressive – modern workstations ensured comfortable work, and the award ceremony in the Ministry of Construction of Russia building left unforgettable impressions.”
Andrey Kostikovemphasized the social significance of the chosen direction: “We were faced with a non-trivial task of designing weak-current systems. It is extremely important nowadays to ensure people’s safety: competent design allows not only to alert about a fire, but also to detect ignition at an early stage. The acquired knowledge will definitely be useful to us in the future.”
Anton Klyuyevshared emotions from the final: “The level of the competition at MGSU impressed – everything is clear, modern, fully immersed in real cases. The result is second place. On one hand, there is room for growth, on the other – the awareness that we are among the top three in the country is priceless. When you stand with a diploma on the wall of the Ministry of Construction of Russia, you feel the significance of the future profession.”
The award ceremony at the Ministry of Construction and Housing and Communal Services emphasized the importance of training young personnel for the safety industry. We congratulate our students on their well-deserved award and wish them new victories!
