Moscow’s Mosgortrans parks have received 97 LiAZ “Sitimax-12” buses. This was reported by the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry. Maxim Liksutov.
“By the order of Sergey Sobyanin, we continue to update the rolling stock and expand the coverage area of the ‘Moscow — Region’ project. New bus models have already been launched on nine suburban routes in five districts. The interiors have everything necessary for passenger comfort: a low floor level, enlarged standing areas, and wide doors for easy boarding and alighting,” noted Maxim Liksutov.
New bus models of the “Moscow — Region” project operate on the routes:
— Krasnogorsk — No. 1541, 1542, 1566;
— Odintsovo Urban District — No. 1139, 1818;
— Dolgoprudny — No. 1545, 1572;
— Mytishchi — No. 1302;
— Khimki — No. 1062.
The LiAZ “Sitimax-12” models are unique. The low-floor area inside the cabin reaches a record 13.6 square meters, the width of door openings, aisles between seats, and the standing area have been increased due to new structural solutions of the body. The front independent suspension and the use of modern materials in the body construction provide a smoother and quieter ride. Vertical handrails are fixed to the side of the body, making movement inside the cabin even freer. Green and red lighting on the doors warns about their opening and closing. Thanks to the larger glazing area, the cabin has become brighter, and the visibility better.
Project “Moscow — Region”
The “Moscow — Region” project started operating in 2025. Twenty-five routes were launched to nearby towns of the Moscow region, running in the northwest and western directions. This became possible thanks to an agreement between the governments of Moscow and the Moscow region. More than 50 routes are planned to be added by the end of the current year.
The buses fully comply with Moscow transport standards, including being adapted for transporting bicycles, strollers, and passengers in wheelchairs. In addition, convenient intervals and schedules have been developed.
Fare payment is possible with the “Troika” card, which can be topped up at cashier desks and ticket vending machines of the Moscow Metro, as well as online through the “Moscow Metro” or “Moscow Transport” mobile applications. Remote top-up must be activated on any validator inside the bus.
The launch of new interconnected routes will serve as a stimulus for the development of transport infrastructure in the Moscow region, including the installation of modern stops, the arrangement of dedicated lanes, the creation of new and reconstruction of existing transport hubs, and the integration of different types of urban transport for daily trips from the Moscow suburbs to Moscow and back.
In accordance with the goals of the national project “Infrastructure for Life” In Moscow, great attention is paid to the modernization of social and communal infrastructure, including increasing the number of convenient urban transport routes and updating the rolling stock.
