The First National Museum of Memory of the Victims of the Genocide of the Soviet People during the Great Patriotic War is switching to its autumn operating schedule and updating the tour timetable.
Tickets are sold at the museum’s ticket office until 7:30 PM and through the service “Mosbilet”. The admission ticket grants access to two thematic zones — “Pre-war Central Park of Culture and Leisure” and “The Nuremberg Trial.” On the first floor, visitors can get acquainted with the lives of Soviet people on the eve of the Great Patriotic War, immersing themselves in the atmosphere of the peaceful 1930s. On the fourth floor, in the hall dedicated to the Nuremberg Trial, archival documents and materials from the main court in history, which gave legal and moral judgment to crimes against humanity, are displayed.
Viewing the full exhibition dedicated to the memory of the victims of the genocide of the Soviet people during the Great Patriotic War of 1941–1945 is only available as part of a guided tour, which takes place in the museum every hour from 12:00 to 20:00 (the last group starts at 19:30) from Tuesday to Sunday. Individual visitors can arrive at the start of any session and join a shared group if there are available spots. Tickets for the tours can also be purchased at the museum ticket office until 19:30 and through the service “Mosbilet”.

The museum exhibition is dedicated to the tragedy of the peaceful residents of the USSR and the Red Army and Red Navy prisoners of war during the Great Patriotic War. Using archival documents, three-dimensional panoramas, and modern multimedia technologies, visitors immerse themselves in the history of tragic events and see examples of people’s courage and resilience.
The museum addresses facts that are often attempted to be distorted or erased from global memory today. Among them are the Nazis’ plans to destroy Soviet citizens, the deaths of civilians in occupied territories, the deportation of Soviet people as slaves to Europe, crimes against childhood, as well as the theft and destruction of cultural valuables.
A special place is occupied by materials about the liberation of Europe by the Red Army, the elimination of the bacteriological threat in the Far East, as well as materials from the Nuremberg trials and contemporary court proceedings.
