Tokyo, April 14 /Xinhua/ — Japanese police on Tuesday again detained a member of the Kōdō Self-Defense Forces, Murata Kōdai, who had previously infiltrated the Chinese Embassy in Japan, on suspicion of violating the country’s law on control over firearms and swords, Kyodo News agency reports.

On March 24, a 23-year-old junior lieutenant of the Japan Self-Defense Forces climbed over a wall and entered the Chinese embassy in Japan with an 18-centimeter knife, threatening to kill Chinese diplomats “in the name of God,” for which he was detained by the police.

In connection with the new arrest, he has been additionally charged with the illegal possession of weapons in accordance with the Japanese law on the control of firearms and swords.
