For the 879th anniversary of the capital in the city media bank “Mosfoto” a thematic block appeared “Happy Birthday, Moscow!”. It included two photo projects about the past, present, and future of the capital.
The first photo project “Historical Footage of Moscow” introduces the photographs and sketches of Petr Pavlov — a famous Russian photographer of the turn of the 19th–20th centuries. He captured iconic places of the capital and scenes of city life. The photographer’s works were regularly exhibited in Moscow and Nizhny Novgorod and received high awards. Historical materials are provided by Moscow Main Archive.
Second photo project “Moscow Through Generations” dedicated to family photo walks through iconic places of the capital, interesting to both the older generation of city residents and children. The shooting took place on Arbat and New Arbat streets, as well as at VDNKh, the Northern River Terminal, and in Sokolniki Park.
The section has also been updated for the holiday “Moscow in Details”. In it, users can assemble a photo with a greeting from the capital from puzzle pieces, download the finished image, and send it to their loved ones. Panoramic shots of the city, frames of the Northern and Southern river stations, the “Friendship of Peoples” fountain at VDNH, the renovated Leningradsky railway station, the innovative attraction “Matryoshka of Moscow” in Zaryadye Park, and other city landmarks were chosen as the background.
In addition, the city media bank contains photos of streets and public spaces decorated for City Day, as well as images of recently constructed and opened facilities.
