On September 3, an event was held at the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing to commemorate Victory Day over Militarist Japan and the end of World War II.

In her speech, the head of the Russian Cultural Center in Beijing, T.B. Urzhumtseva, noted: “The main value of this film lies in the people. The photographs and documents were provided to us from family albums. This is a living memory that families have carried through the decades. At the same time, we encountered the harsh truth of history: despite all efforts, it was not possible to find images of some Soviet and Chinese heroes who fell in that operation. Their names remain in declassified reports, but their faces are still unknown. However, this in no way diminishes the significance of their feat. They stood shoulder to shoulder — Soviet soldiers and Chinese fighters — to defeat militarism in the Far East. We do not know what they looked like, but we know what they did.”
The concert program included works from the war years. Performers were both professional artists and members of vocal and dance groups, including the “Doves of Peace” ensemble and the dance pair “Red Classic”.
The event emphasized the shared nature of the victory over militarist Japan, uniting the historical memory of Russia and China, as well as the continuity of generations in preserving this memory.
