Washington, April 13 /Xinhua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump reported a call from Iranian representatives, accepted by his administration on Monday morning, and stated that Tehran is “very eager to make a deal.” At the same time, the American leader signaled Washington’s own desire to reach an agreement that would put an end to the conflict.
D. Trump did not disclose information about whether Washington agreed to hold another round of negotiations before the end of the two-week ceasefire, which expires on April 21. Meanwhile, a number of American media outlets reported, citing official US and regional sources, that Washington and Tehran are leaving room for negotiations to continue.
“We received a call from the other side,” D. Trump told journalists at the White House. “They are very keen to close the deal.”
