Deputy Prime Minister Marat Khusnullin participated in the opening of the last section of the 45-kilometer South Lytkarino highway in the Moscow region, which became part of the unified framework of high-speed roads in the region.

“The South Lytkarino Highway is one of the largest infrastructure projects in the Moscow region. The launched section completes the formation of a 45-kilometer high-speed highway running from south to east parallel to the Moscow Ring Road (MKAD). It is a crucial element of the transport framework of the capital agglomeration, allowing the redistribution of transit flows and reducing the long-standing overload on the southeastern sections of the ring road. The project’s implementation was made possible thanks to funding from the federal and regional budgets, as well as the involvement of off-budget funds from the concessionaire. The facility is built within the national project “Infrastructure for Life” under the President’s directive. The new signal-free high-speed route from Varshavskoye Highway to the M-12 “Vostok” will improve transport accessibility for eight urban districts. Construction of such facilities is fundamental to achieving the goal of improving the quality of life in key populated areas by 2030. As part of the project, more than 60 engineering structures were built, including a bridge over the Moskva River and a tunnel, which helped maintain a comfortable environment for the residents of the adjacent neighborhoods.

“With federal support, we have built a large and very necessary road. Essentially, it is a full-fledged alternative to the sometimes heavily congested MKAD, which will ensure both economic development and a completely different quality of life for several major districts of the Moscow region – Lyubertsy, Balashikha, Lytkarino, Leninsky, Podolsk, and Domodedovo. I sincerely want to thank the Government of the Russian Federation for accompanying us at all stages of the project implementation within the framework of the large-scale presidential program. More than 60 complex, technological engineering structures have been built here, including a huge bridge over the Moskva River. During construction, we faced the necessity to relocate a large number of communications – including oil, gas, and high-voltage lines. But we succeeded, and today we have the opportunity to fully open the road, which I am sure will yield noticeable results,” noted the governor of the Moscow region, Andrey Vorobyov.

Marat Khusnullin also held a meeting with the participation of the Governor of the Moscow Region Andrey Vorobyov and representatives of relevant agencies, where they discussed the development of the Moscow Region’s road network and a number of other socio-economic development issues of the region.

Among the key projects are a parallel road to Yegoryevskoye Highway, the development of Rublyovo-Uspenskoye Highway, the approach to Odintsovo, and a parallel road to Shchyolkovskoye Highway. Each of these projects will impact transport accessibility for tens of thousands of residents and reduce the load on existing highways. Financing sources, synchronization of construction schedules, and prospects for attracting off-budget funds were also discussed. The meeting participants separately considered measures to ensure road safety and the need to synchronize road construction with the development of adjacent territories.
