Nanning, April 13 /Xinhua/ — Four middle school students drowned while swimming in the Beilu River in the territory of Sianzi village, Wuzhou City, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region /GZA/ in southern China, local authorities reported on Sunday.
The incident occurred on Saturday around 4:00 PM, when the children were swimming in the reservoir, according to a statement published by the people’s government of the Syanzi village.
Further investigation into the causes of the incident is currently underway, according to a statement which also advises parents to strictly prohibit children from swimming alone and approaching dangerous bodies of water.
