20 new single-day settlement futures contracts with auto-renewal on the stocks of the largest companies in the American market will appear in September on the derivatives market of the Moscow Exchange. The underlying assets of the new futures will be the fixings of foreign securities calculated by the Moscow Exchange.

The new tools will allow professional market participants and their clients to engage in the dynamics of popular American companies without the need to purchase underlying assets or conduct transactions in foreign jurisdictions. Clients will gain additional instruments for implementing trading strategies with global assets, as well as the flexibility of position management provided by perpetual futures.

Maria Patrikeeva, Managing Director of the derivatives market at Moscow Exchange:

“Today, 11 perpetual futures are traded on the Moscow Exchange — on currencies, the Moscow Exchange Index and the government bond index, precious metals, Russian and foreign securities, and we see that these instruments are in demand not only among professional participants but also among novice investors. Compared to August last year, the volume of open positions in perpetual contracts has grown by 36% and exceeded 450 billion rubles, with more than 60 thousand clients now making deals with them monthly. The launch of another 20 new perpetual futures will significantly expand the range of clients’ investment strategies and will contribute to the further growth of liquidity in the Russian derivatives market.”
