Moscow transport continues to implement modern payment tools to enhance passenger convenience. Now the digital form of the national currency is available for topping up the “Wallet” balance, as well as for purchasing subscriptions for the “Troika” card and the Muscovite card in the “Moscow Metro” mobile app. This was reported by Maxim Liksutov, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

To top up the “Troika” card or the Muscovite card using the digital ruble, you need to complete three simple steps:
- Log in to the personal account of the “Moscow Metro” app;
- In the “Payment methods” section, select the “Troika” card or the Muscovite card that needs to be topped up;
- Click “Top up” and select digital ruble in the “Payment methods” section.
Before making a transaction, it is important to open a digital ruble account in advance — this can be done through the mobile application of a bank connected to the Bank of Russia platform.
“Together with the Central Bank of the Russian Federation and VTB, we launched the replenishment of the ‘Troika’ card and the Muscovite card using the digital ruble in the ‘Moscow Metro’ app. The payment service operates reliably and safely — for this, we conducted numerous tests and trials with partners. Today, passengers have 14 payment options available, which make trips even more comfortable. Under the directive of Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, the capital is among the first to implement modern Russian payment innovations in urban transport,” noted Maksim Liksutov.
The introduction of the digital ruble into Moscow’s public transport ticketing system has become another step in the development of cashless payment services, making fare payment even more flexible and accessible for millions of passengers.
