Vladivostok, April 12 /Sinyua/ — From April 9 to 12, the Far Eastern Media Summit took place in the Jewish Autonomous Region of Russia, which gathered more than 850 participants.
The summit venue was the Sholom-Aleihem Priamur State University, located in the administrative center of the Jewish Autonomous Region, Birobidzhan. The summit was attended by chief editors and journalists of federal and regional media, heads and specialists of press services of government bodies and corporations of the Far Eastern Federal District, as well as representatives of media and business circles from Russia’s partner countries.
The Media Summit program includes events divided into thematic blocks: “Truth as a mission,” “Media Workshop,” “Tourist Code,” “Youth Media,” “Code of Unity,” “Literature as Media,” “Gospublics,” and “Media Bridge to Asia and the CIS.”
On Friday, within the framework of the summit, a plenary discussion “EAO: point of attraction. Traditions, development, and unity” took place. After that, there was a discussion “Mediadiplomacy: EAO — a bridge between Russia, China, and the CIS countries.” EAO Governor Maria Kostyuk, Chairman of the Primorsky branch of the Russian Journalists’ Union Viktor Susanov, representatives of IA Xinhua and other media discussed how local media can strengthen ties and cooperation with China.
The organizers of the event were: the Union of Journalists of Russia branch in the Jewish Autonomous Region, the Primorsky branch of the Union of Journalists of Russia, the Sholom-Aleihem State University of the Amur Region, with the support of the government of the Jewish Autonomous Region. –0–
