More and more Muscovites are choosing electric vehicles — an eco-friendly and silent mode of transport. For the convenience of car owners, the city is expanding the necessary charging infrastructure. Since 2020, the “Energy of Moscow” project has been operating in the capital. Today, more than 400 charging stations of the project have been installed in over 100 districts.
In the first half of 2026, 66 new ultra-fast electric charging stations for personal and commercial electric vehicles were installed in the city. In addition, the first urban distribution charging complexes with power balancing in Russia were opened. They began operating at the intercept parking lots of “Moscow Parking” near the Volokolamskaya metro station and the Izmailovo station of the Moscow Central Circle. The complexes are equipped with ultra-fast charging stations, operate around the clock, and are capable of servicing up to 500 electric vehicles per day.
By the end of the year, it is planned to start installing an additional 550 electric charging stations on the street-road network, create a unified office for legal entities to pay for charging, and implement smart electric vehicle charging without the use of applications.
