The “Park” gallery will host the exhibition “100 Years of the Watchman’s Hut,” dedicated to the history of the settlement Solomennaya Storozhka. In 2026, the housing cooperative of small cottages on the outskirts of the Timiryazevsky Forest will celebrate its 100th anniversary.
The settlement was created as a garden city and united professors, architects, agronomists, foresters, engineers, and representatives of other professions. The author of the architectural project, Karl Gippius, lived here, and after the war, one of the neighbors became the sculptor Yevgeny Vuchetich.
The exhibition includes contemporary and archival photographs, plans, and drawings. Visitors will learn how Solomennaya Storozhka originated, who founded the cooperative, and how the settlement and its surroundings have changed throughout the 20th and 21st centuries.
