The pursuit of success, friendship, and love for GUU united the new students of the first management faculty at the traditional freshman meeting.
Together with the curators, yesterday’s applicants got acquainted with the university campus, learned about the specifics of their institutes, and participated in activities organized by the student council and the meeting’s partners.
Rector Vladimir Stroev noted that every year the GUU family grows with new talented young people who have shining eyes, a thirst for knowledge, and a drive for action. During the years of study, it is important to find friends and move forward as a united team in order to build a better future together for oneself and the entire country.
With a welcoming speech to the hundreds of newcomers, the Vice-Rector of GUU, Pavel Pavlovsky, addressed them.
“Only you decide what the next 4 years will be like. Make them bright, rich, filled with events. GUU provides opportunities to carry out any initiatives: from ‘Startup as a Diploma,’ case clubs, and science to creative activities. A manager is not a profession you can simply be taught; one must learn it oneself through implementing initiatives and helping others,” concluded the vice-rector.
Success in their studies was wished to the students by the Deputy Director of the Institute of Sectoral Management Andrey Lipatov and GUU graduate, assistant professor of the Department of Management in International Business and Tourism Industry Dmitry Akopyan.
Dance performances for the welcome event were prepared by representatives of all the GUU institutes, the student council, finalists of the Miss and Mister GUU contests, and other active students.
After the creative program, the freshmen went on a quest around the campus grounds and once again congratulated each other on their admission, ending the meeting with the traditional chant: “This is Vykhino, this is SEAD, this is our GUU, we love it!”
