In Russia, a hotline has been launched to collect proposals from businesses on measures to support the development of artificial intelligence technologies. This was announced by Deputy Prime Minister – Head of the Government Office Dmitry Grigorenko during the first meeting with the chairmen of the working groups of the government’s AI subcommission. Proposals to stimulate the implementation and development of Russian artificial intelligence technologies through tax and other support measures are being discussed within one of the working groups.

With the help of the hotline, businesses can propose mechanisms to support the implementation of AI technology. The feedback collection form has been launched on the official website of ANO “Digital Economy.” Based on the collected feedback, proposals will be reviewed by the working group’s experts and sent to the Government for concrete decision-making.

The working group platform also discusses measures to remove barriers to the development of artificial intelligence in Russia and develops practical solutions. Work is being carried out in eight key areas: regulation, infrastructure, data for AI, AI model training, information security, implementation of AI technologies, support measures, as well as issues of media and copyright.

“We are not just developing individual AI solutions; we are creating conditions for their large-scale application. To that end, we work with businesses to eliminate regulatory and administrative barriers: we ensure access to data, improve the security requirements for AI systems, and create conditions for their implementation. The experience of commercial companies helps identify which restrictions truly hinder the adoption of technologies and which measures can help remove them. This allows us to direct support toward solving specific business problems and accelerating the adoption of AI in the economy,” said Dmitry Grigorenko.

At the first stage, working groups systematized the main constraints hindering AI development and prepared proposals to eliminate them. On the working groups’ platform, proposals are being developed to improve regulation (by-laws to the AI support law), proposals to stimulate the development and implementation of domestic AI solutions through support measures, assessment of organizations’ data needs for AI training, formation of methodology for working with them and technical standards. The next stage of work is related to the coordination and testing of the proposed approaches.

The chairs of the working groups have been appointed from representatives of leading technology companies.
