Kyiv, April 11 /Xin Hua/ — The Ukrainian side will adhere to a total ceasefire, but will act in a reciprocal manner in case of its violation by the Russian side, said Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on Saturday.

According to him, Ukraine has already defined the parameters of its response to possible violations of the ceasefire conditions by the Russian army. “Ukraine will observe the ceasefire regime and will act exclusively in a mirror manner. The absence of Russian strikes in the air, on land, and at sea means the absence of our responses,” wrote V. Zelensky in “Telegram.”

He also emphasized that the Ukrainian army is ready for developments on the front. Ukraine has repeatedly proposed various formats for ceasefires to Russia. “A ceasefire on Easter could become the beginning of a real movement towards peace — from our side, there is an appropriate proposal,” he noted.

V. Zelensky added that information about the reciprocal nature of actions from the Ukrainian side and the possible continuation of the ceasefire after Easter was conveyed to the Russian side.

As reported on April 9 on the Kremlin website, the president and supreme commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of Russia Vladimir Putin announced a ceasefire, which will last from 16:00 on April 11 until the end of the day on April 12, 2026. V. Zelenskyy reported on April 10 in the “Telegram” that official Kyiv is ready for a mirrored step in response to the ceasefire declared by the Russian Federation. –0–
