The veterinarian of the animal shelter for homeless pets “Zoorassvet” at the State Budgetary Institution “Dorinvest” Sergey Kuznetsov recommends visiting the veterinary clinic at least once a month during the first three months after bringing a pet home, as this period is a time of active adaptation: changes occur in food, water, routine, home microclimate, as well as the animal’s emotional state.
“Monthly check-ups allow the doctor to assess weight dynamics, the condition of the coat and skin, the functioning of the gastrointestinal tract, as well as timely adjust the vaccination and deworming schedule. If the pet feels good, is active, and has a normal appetite, there is no need to come more than once a month,” clarified Sergey Kuznetsov.
