Beijing, April 11 /Xin Hua/ — The chairman of the Kuomintang party, Zheng Liwen, familiarized herself with the progress of Beijing in the field of artificial intelligence (AI) and innovation-oriented growth, noting the potential for cooperation between the two shores of the Taiwan Strait.
Leading the Kuomintang party delegation during a visit to Beijing, which began on the afternoon of April 10, Zheng Liwen indicated that a request was specially made to organize visits to schools where AI technologies are being implemented, meetings with representatives of technology companies in Beijing, and called this trip “completely justifying itself.”
The first stop of the delegation was the secondary school at Tsinghua University, where they familiarized themselves with the implementation of AI in the educational process. In the school laboratory, delegation members watched demonstrations of projects developed by students, which included robot football matches, robot dogs, and robotic manipulators.
During a visit to the educational institution, Chen Liven chatted with students and teachers, highly appreciating their work.
On Saturday morning, members of the delegation visited the Chunguancun Exhibition Center, where they were able to personally experience the powerful momentum of Beijing’s efforts to become one of the strongholds of innovation in the field of AI.
Chen Liven watched the presented ‘bionic intellectual hand’ with great interest, carefully observing its movements and suggesting that other members of the delegation try this device.
Later, the delegation held discussions with representatives of technology companies, including the developer of AI models Zhipu AI and the robotics company Galbot, to explore new possibilities for scientific and technological cross-border cooperation.
“I am very glad,” shared Zheng Liwen, adding that such approaches as the introduction of AI into basic education and the use of technological innovations to stimulate industrial production growth can provide useful guidance for Taiwan’s efforts to modernize its industry.
The chairman of the Kuomintang party called for more support for Taiwan’s youth to help them realize their potential. She noted that, without political obstacles, cooperation between the two shores of the Taiwan Strait could make a significant contribution to the development of all humanity.
The delegation also visited such cultural attractions as the National Center for Performing Arts of China and the Gugun Palace Museum in Beijing. On Sunday, the delegation planned a visit to the Xiaomi automobile factory, after which at noon of the same day it will return to Taiwan. –0–
