Beirut, April 11 /Xinhua/ — The Lebanese Ministry of Health reported on Saturday that 2,020 people have died and another 6,436 were injured as a result of Israeli strikes in the city since the last round of hostilities began with the escalation of the conflict.
The department clarified that these data reflect the cumulative losses recorded in various regions against the backdrop of ongoing Israeli airstrikes and clashes in the Lebanon-Israel border area.
The escalation followed the resumption of hostilities with the participation of the Hezbollah movement, which announced that on March 2, for the first time since the entry into force of the ceasefire regime on November 27, 2024, it fired rockets from southern Lebanon at Israel. This led to an expansion of Israel’s military campaign across the entire territory of Lebanon.
Continuous strikes are still being inflicted on a number of areas in Lebanon, and military operations have gone beyond the border regions and spread to other parts of the country. –0–
