On August 27, participants of the first short film festival “Moscow. Stories. People.” were awarded in the capital. The ceremony took place on Russian Cinema Day at the “Cinema Park Mosfilm” venue. Guests watched the competing works and learned the names of the winners.
“This project, which began as a youth initiative, has brought together dozens of works. They are dedicated to outstanding personalities, iconic landmarks, culture, the modern development, and the heritage of our city,” she said

Anyone over 18 years old could participate in the festival, both professionals and amateurs. They were invited to make a film about Moscow lasting from five to seven minutes. Applications were accepted from June 4 to July 1.
The films “How Moscow Sounds” featuring a symphony orchestra and “Two Frontliners,” whose heroes are NTV channel military correspondent Alexey Ivliev and World War II veteran and long-time journalist Zoriy Apresyan, were awarded. Among the winners were also the films “Moskvich — 100 Years in Motion” about the history of the factory and the development of the domestic automotive industry, “Not the Last Shelter” about a volunteer who helps homeless animals, and “Liza Che” about a girl with cerebral palsy, her willpower, and active lifestyle.
The works were evaluated by a jury consisting of film industry experts and government officials. Among them were Yevgeny Gerasimov, Chairman of the Moscow City Duma Commission on Culture and Mass Communications, Chairman of the Moscow Regional Organization of the Union of Cinematographers of Russia, Artistic Director of the Moscow Academic Satire Theater, People’s Artist of the Russian Federation; Milena Avimskaya, Director of the Central Academic Theater of the Russian Army and a Deputy of the Moscow City Duma; as well as actor of theater and cinema Andrey Kaykov.
The festival “Moscow. Stories. People” was held as part of the capital’s ecosystem “Territory of Opportunities.” The event was initiated by students, young parliamentarians, and public advisers who presented the project’s concept at a training intensive. The festival organizers are the Moscow Center for Civic Activity and the City Council of Public Advisers.
“Territory of Opportunities” — the ecosystem of the capital Department of Territorial Executive Authorities, which unites tens of thousands of Muscovites. It includes the Center for Civic Activity, the Agency for Public Projects, the City Center for Professional and Career Development, and the Youth Parliament of Moscow. Activists participate in the political and cultural life of the city, implement socially significant projects, help residents solve local issues in their neighborhoods, develop professional skills, and learn from leading experts.
