The “Active Citizen” project has opened series of votes, dedicated to dog walking areas that were improved in 2025 as part of the project “Pets in Moscow”. Residents of the capital will choose the best spaces for animal training and walking with them.
The project to create new-format sites has been implemented since 2021 as part of the Moscow Mayor’s program “My District”. During this time, the capital has already modernized more than 110 such spaces, and 24 of them were renovated last year. A unified landscaping standard was developed in collaboration with canine experts, taking into account the wishes of pet owners. Special attention was given to safety, thoughtful zoning, and the quality of materials.
Each site is equipped with modern training equipment, has entrance vestibules, containers for cleaning up after pets, rest areas with benches and canopies, as well as wear-resistant coverings.
Voting Conditions
Citizens are offered four votes, dedicated to updated playgrounds in various administrative districts of the capital. In the first questions, participants need to answer whether they are interested in the topic of pets and infrastructure modernization. Next, pet owners and Muscovites interested in the improvement of the playgrounds will need to mark the spaces they liked most. In In the Northern and Northeastern Districts The sites are presented in the parks “Angarskie prudy”, “Druzhba”, “Ethnographic Village “Bibirevo””, as well as on Dolgoprudnaya Alley and Polyarnaya Street. In Southern Administrative Okrug and TiNAO — in the parks “Borisovskie Prudy”, named after Yuri Luzhkov, on Kaspiyskaya Street, in the village of Yakovlevskoye, Vnukovo, the settlement of Rogovo, and the village of Klenovo. In In the Eastern and Southeastern districts — in the “Raduga” park, on Akademik Skryabin Street, at the “Kuzminki-Lyublino” museum-reserve, and on Volzhsky Boulevard. In In the Western and Northwestern districts — in the parks of the 50th Anniversary of October, Olympic Village, “Northern Tushino,” on Nemansky Drive, and on General Glagolev and Gamaleya streets.
Users with a full or standard account on the mos.ru portal can participate in the voting. By casting their vote, they will receive points in the city loyalty program. “Million Prizes”. They can be used to obtain goods and services from the program partners or directed to charity.
Project “Active Citizen” has been operating since 2014. During this time, more than seven million people have joined it, with over 7,800 votes held in total. Every month, 30 to 40 decisions are implemented in the city.
