Beijing, August 27 /Xinhua/ — The 72nd meeting of the chairman and vice-chairmen of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress (NPC) was held on Thursday at the Great Hall of the People in Beijing. During the meeting, a number of reports on the consideration of various drafts of legislation during the ongoing 24th session of the 14th NPC Standing Committee were presented.
The meeting was chaired by Zhao Leji, Chairman of the NPC Standing Committee.
The deputies listened to reports on proposals for amendments to the bill on medical care and to the bill on the protection of arable lands and the improvement of their quality, as well as on proposals for amendments to the revised draft of the PRC Law on Agriculture, the revised draft of the PRC Law on National Defense Mobilization, and the draft resolution on the revision of the PRC Law on Advocacy.
In addition, a report on the examination of the extradition treaty between China and Hungary was heard, as well as reports on the powers of individual deputies and on the review of personnel changes.
At the meeting, it was decided to submit the revised draft regulatory documents for consideration at the 24th session of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People’s Congress.
