Washington, April 11 /Sina/ — US President Donald Trump stated on Friday that on Saturday in Pakistan, American negotiators will discuss with the Iranian side the issue of resuming navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, assuring that this vital waterway for world energy will be opened “automatically” with or without Iran’s participation.
“It will open automatically,” D. Trump told journalists. Later he added that, in his opinion, the Strait of Hormuz will be opened “quite soon.”
According to the head of the U.S. administration, its main goal in the deal with Iran is to ensure that Tehran cannot obtain nuclear weapons.
“No nuclear weapons,” said D. Trump.
Earlier on Friday, D. Trump said in a telephone interview with the New York Post that the results of negotiations with Iran would become clear “in about 24 hours.” At the same time, he warned that American warships are preparing to resume strikes on Iran in case the negotiations in Pakistan fail.
On the same day, Iran stated that the country’s armed forces continue to be fully combat-ready, as during the 40-day confrontation, taking into account the “frequent violations of promises” by the United States and Israel.
USA, Iran, and Israel declared their victory in the war. Analysts believe that the current ceasefire is unstable and that conflicting interests and longstanding disagreements hinder the achievement of a permanent peaceful agreement in the upcoming negotiations.
