On August 29 and 30, the project “City of the Caring” will hold a charity event for Knowledge Day at the Central Children’s Store. The program includes creative workshops by non-profit organizations (NPOs), games, and an exhibition of children’s drawings. Admission to the event is free.
School supplies collection
While parents choose notebooks, backpacks, and stationery for their children, they have the opportunity to help those who need support the most. Boxes for collecting items will be installed in the Central Children’s Store as part of the “Let’s Prepare the Child for School” campaign of the project Moscow helps“. The campaign is organized by the resource center “Mosvolunteer” — it runs throughout the city. Muscovites can bring stationery, books, clothes, and shoes. The collected items will be given to children from families in difficult life situations in the new regions.
NGO Master Classes
Free creative workshops will be held for children and their parents. Thus, on August 29, the foundation “Movement is life” will teach you how to paint a fabric bag and weave bracelets from beads, and the organization “The Emerald City” will show how to make a keychain from felt.
August 30 fund “Family Together” will help sew an anti-stress toy, and the foundation “Simple Things” organizes sessions with an art therapist in the workshop for parents and children. On the same day, guests will be able to join the game “From Heart to Heart” by the foundation “Give Life”. For participating in any workshop, guests will receive a coloring book from the project “City of the Caring”.
Children’s Drawing Exhibition
An exhibition of children’s drawings will also be held at the Central Children’s Store. Visitors will be able to see the world through the eyes of the wards of non-profit organizations. The works will be presented by children from the foundations “Sunflower”, “Life in Motion”, “Lifestyle” and other organizations. A special QR code will be placed nearby to access the charitable service on the mos.ru portal, where you can learn more about the activities of these and other Moscow NGOs, as well as support their work.
Mascot and the test “What kind of philanthropist are you?”
From 12:00 to 18:00 on August 29 and 30, a mascot (symbol) of the “City of the Caring” project will be roaming the Central Children’s Store — visitors will be able to hug the large soft heart and take a memorable photo. The “What Kind of Philanthropist Are You?” test will allow everyone to find a suitable form of assistance.
You can support funds without leaving your home — with the help of charitable service on mos.ru. It unites more than 100 verified non-profit organizations of the capital city. To make a donation, you need to choose a support program on the service page and specify the transfer amount. You can send funds to the wards of one, several, or all programs in the category at once: in this case, the amount will be evenly distributed among all organizations. The work and functional development of the charitable service on the mos.ru portal are overseen by the city Department of Information Technology and Committee on Public Relations and Youth Policy with the support of the Moscow Public Chamber.
