Novosibirsk State University and Heilongjiang University have become the initiators of the creation of a new professional association between Russian and Chinese universities. This was announced today by the rector of NSU, a corresponding member of the Russian Academy of Sciences. Dmitry Pyshny at a press conference at TASS as part of the Technoprom-2026 forum. This will be the Association of Joint Educational Organizations of Universities of Russia and China.
As of today, 47 joint educational institutions established by universities of the two countries are operating. The founding meeting of the new association will take place on August 28 as part of the first forum “Russia-Novosibirsk-China,” which is a satellite event of “Technoprom-2026.”

In 2011, NSU and Heilongjiang University established the first joint institute between Russia and China. To date, Novosibirsk State University has created three joint institutes and is implementing 20 joint educational programs with Chinese universities.
Currently, more than 1,000 Chinese students and attendees are studying at NSU, and by the 2029/30 academic year, NSU plans to triple their number. According to NSU’s plans, in four years, at least 3,000 Chinese students will be studying in joint programs. The annual revenue from the provision of paid educational services under these programs will amount to at least 600 million rubles.
