On August 29, the new route No. 1461 of the “Moscow — Region” project will connect Odintsovo with the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station, near which are located the buildings of the largest universities in the capital. Eight modern large-class buses with suburban configuration will connect the urban district with the Yugo-Zapadnaya metro station. The route will start operating ahead of the new academic year: now students from Odintsovo will be able to comfortably get to universities in the west and southwest of the capital,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.

The fare paid with the “Troika” card from the “Yugo-Zapadnaya” metro station to the “Marinka Store” stop will be from 71 to 136 rubles, and with a bank card — from 76 to 141 rubles. At the same time, the cost for a full circle from the “Yugo-Zapadnaya” metro station through Odintsovo back to the metro will be from 71 to 218 rubles with the “Troika” card, and from 76 to 223 rubles with a bank card.
On this route, as well as on other routes of the “Moscow — Region” project, unlimited travel passes “Unified” will be available without restrictions on trips in the “Suburban” zone for 30, 90, or 365 days. This is a cost-effective payment method: passengers can save up to 60 percent per year and transfer for free to all city transport. In addition, the student Moscow resident card will allow the use of the “Unified” travel passes for 30 and 90 days with the “Suburban” zone. Privileged categories of citizens will be able to use free travel with the Moscow resident card and the Moscow Region resident card. Individuals under 60 years old will be able to travel free of charge using the Moscow Region resident card on all adjoining routes of the capital as well as regional routes. Discounts for transfers to the metro and other routes when paying for single trips with the “Troika” card under the “Wallet” tariff, as well as with a bank card, are not provided. It is also not possible to pay for travel with the “Strelka” card.
Development of communication between Moscow and the region
By agreement between the governments of Moscow and the Moscow Region, in 2026, more than 50 existing suburban routes in the western, northwestern, northern, and northeastern directions are planned to be integrated into the Moscow transport system, with more than half of them already operational. In total, at least one-third of the currently operating suburban ground public transport routes will be included in the capital’s transport system.
