Recently, more than 40 wild Asian elephants were spotted in the village of Zhushan in Mengshan Township, Ning’er Hani and Yi Autonomous County, Pu’er City, Yunnan Province. The local forestry and pasture administration has organized joint monitoring teams that are taking measures to ensure the safety of people and elephants: conducting monitoring and warnings using drones, installing warning signs and protective structures, and informing the population about safety measures.
