The summer film festival will take place on August 27 “Hazelnut on the Grass”, dedicated to the Day of Russian Cinema. The program was prepared as part of the project “Summer in Moscow”.
At the flagship venue “My District” in Sosenki Park on Timurovskaya Street (house 7), there will be creative meetings with actors and directors, lectures on film production, master classes, film screenings, and other events.
The film festival “Hazelnut in the Grass” is the first special project of the Youth Film Festival of Author’s Short Films “Hazelnut.” It aims to popularize cinematic art and support young authors working in the genres of fiction and documentary films, as well as animation. Within the film festival, round tables, seminars, lectures, master classes, and film screenings with industry professionals take place.
Exhibition of art works
From 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM, the festival venue will be open thematic exhibition artworks. The exhibition will include paintings featuring scenes and vivid frames from the best films—participants and laureates of past years of the ‘Funduk’ film festival.
Creative meeting and educational programs
At 18:00 will take place creative meeting with theater and film actor Alexander Sibirtsev. He will talk about his creative path and the acting profession, and answer audience questions. Alexander Sibirtsev has acted in projects such as “Olga,” “Epidemic,” “Middle Zone Vampires,” “Patient Zero,” “Master and Margarita,” and others.
Filmmaker and screenwriter Ruslan Paushu will conduct a master class on the main stage “Acting Techniques”. Participants will get acquainted with the basics of working on camera and receive practical recommendations for the filming process. Ruslan Paushu is the author of several acting methods and the director of projects such as “Tender Leaves, Poisonous Roots,” “Raya Knows Everything!”, “Holding Breath,” “Mentalistka,” “Jeeper,” and others.
At the same time, there will be a master class “DNA of Filmmaking” director and producer Margarita Volkova. Participants will learn about the classification of film directors, the stages of film development and production, expressive means of cinema, and the specifics of creating film projects. Margarita Volkova is a graduate of the N.S. Mikhalkov Academy of Cinematographic and Theatrical Arts, and a laureate of international film festivals.
Director, producer, and screenwriter Inna Semina will also hold a lecture at 7:00 PM “How to make your first film without experience and connections” She will talk about the first steps in film production, organizing the shooting process, and promoting her own film.
Auditions and Screenings
From 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM, there will be an interactive area at the film festival “Self-tests”. Under the guidance of professional actress Polina Kharitonova, participants will have the opportunity to try their hand at acting and get acquainted with the casting process: they will learn how to present themselves on camera, record a video greeting, and also rehearse short scenes from famous films.
At 19:00, a screening of the festival’s best works will begin. Viewers will be presented with short animated films, documentary projects, and feature films. The program will include the cartoons “Staring into the Void” by Yegor Balanin, “Piano on the Cliff” by Valeria Sobolevski, “Little Friends” by Anastasia Tyurina, “My Friend – the Spirit” by Pavel Finozhenkov, and “In the Belly of the Snake” by Ivan Khanzhin. In addition, the best films from last year’s festival will be shown: “Draw Our House” by Inna Kudryavtseva, “Punishment Without Crime” by Dmitry Lebedev, “Three Days to Finish” by Alexandra Sovetskaya, “Broken Goose” by Vladislava Shilkina, and “Groceries Across the Street” by Alexander Titov.
“We are pleased that our youth festival goes beyond the usual cinema halls and expands its format. We have gathered a unique program for the audience: here are shown some of the best works of the ninth ‘Funduk’ film festival, and leading lecturers and cinema industry experts have been invited as speakers. Our main goal is to make quality films and professional knowledge about them accessible and interesting to young people,” shared Tatyana Krasnova, director of the Association of Cultural and Leisure Centers of the Southern Administrative District.
Attendance at the film festival events is free of charge; registration is not required. Everyone interested will be able to participate in the drawing of books about cinema and acting.
