Starting August 22, a new express route E50 will operate in Moscow, replacing route No. 903, and the stop-based route M56 will replace T76. The new dedicated lane on Mira Avenue has connected two existing dedicated lane sections into a single corridor. Every day, more than 43 thousand fast, comfortable, and safe trips will be made by residents of the districts along Yaroslavskoye Highway due to the creation of this main framework,” said the Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Transport and Industry.
The number of trips on the new express route will increase by 15 percent compared to route No. 903. Eleven routes now use the dedicated lane, which is 0.8 kilometers long, including E50 and No. 1333, as well as nine regional bus routes. On the shared section, buses E50 and M56 will run at two-minute intervals, significantly reducing waiting times. In addition, starting from August 22, route No. 56 will be renumbered to 556.
Dedicated lanes remain a reliable way to improve the conditions of ground urban transport. They reduce travel time for buses and trolleybuses on average by two to four times, and also decrease the risk of road traffic accidents by approximately 25 percent.
