The 2026 admissions campaign was held under the motto “You are the main hero!”. This year, the university received more than 164,000 applications for admission. 3,400 people were admitted on a budget-funded basis. 230 winners of olympiads were admitted at an earlier priority stage. The competition for budget-funded places was 48 applications per spot.
New talented students have already joined the ranks of the polytechnic. German Kark entered the Institute of Computer Science and Cybersecurity in the field of “Management in Technical Systems.” He attended courses at the Polytechnic University and scored 100 points on the Unified State Exam in advanced mathematics.
Herman was helped in choosing a university by his sister. She graduated from the Polytechnic. However, it was the graduates of his school from past years who advised him to enter IKNC.

Anastasia Anikeeva arrived from Samara to apply. She will study at the Engineering and Construction Institute in the field of “Construction of unique buildings and structures.” She decided to apply to Polytech for this program because it offers the best training. In addition, she really likes Saint Petersburg.
Anastasia scored 100 points on the Unified State Exam in physics and advanced mathematics. She said that she had a good foundation in mathematics, but she worked through difficult problems in additional courses. She also solved different versions of the Unified State Exam every week. Anastasia prepared for physics on an annual course.

Alexander Vysotsky has already completed his bachelor’s degree at Polytech and has now enrolled in a master’s program based on the results of an olympiad at the Institute of Computer Science and Cybersecurity in the field of “Computer Science and Computer Engineering.” He has always been interested in computer sciences and saw himself in this field in the future.

Getting into a master’s program turned out to be harder than for a bachelor’s degree. Alexander was a participant in the OpenDoors Olympiad. He became a prizewinner and received a quota for education.

Around you will be people just like you, who have also arrived in a new city, a new country, and are starting a new chapter of their life.
