In recent years, the Nanxiu district near the city of Cixi in Zhejiang province, relying on the project “Returning Youth to the Village,” has created a comprehensive service system including “political support measures + platform creation + business incubators.” Through the effective use of vacant rural houses, transferring adjacent land plots for use, and creating practice-oriented spaces for young people, affordable spaces for entrepreneurship are provided to young people.These measures attracted hundreds of representatives of the “post-85”, “90s”, and “2000s” generations to return to their native places in order to become specialists in managing rural districts and rural entrepreneurs.
These young people, characterized by internet thinking, modern commercial logic, and innovative forms of activity, transform rice fields, village houses, and other objects into cultural and tourist products available for visiting and consumption, as well as introducing to the rural area art fairs, bread baked in ovens, rural coffee, communities of domestic animal lovers, educational workshops, and other fashionable elements.They also help rural residents sell local agricultural products, create jobs for villagers near their homes, promote the development of resources towards the village, and transform traditional villages into “business incubators without walls.”
