Washington, April 9 /Xin Hua/ — U.S. President Donald Trump said on Thursday that he is “very optimistic” about the possibility of concluding a peace agreement with Iran. This was reported by the NBC News channel.
Iranian leaders “speak very differently in meetings than they do with the press. They are much more reasonable,” D. Trump said in a telephone interview with NBC News.
“They agree to everything that they are supposed to agree to,” the president said. “If they don’t make a deal, it will be very painful,” he added.
D. Trump reported that on Wednesday he had a telephone conversation with the Prime Minister of Israel Benjamin Netanyahu, during which he stated that the Israelis are “reducing the scale” of operations in Lebanon.
“I spoke with Bibi /B. Netanyahu — Prime Minister of Israel/, and he intends to act more restrainedly. I simply believe that we need to behave in a somewhat more restrained manner,” said the head of the White House.
